Overview

Pets on the Green is an appointment-only animal centre in Surrey offering alternative provision, animal-assisted therapy and SEND wellbeing sessions. Who we support: children and young people with SEND, SEMH needs, anxiety, or those out of school or struggling with attendance, including EOTAS packages. Our wider sessions are open to all ages and abilities. What we offer: calm, private sessions where learners meet and handle a range of animals, learn animal facts, help with feeding and care, and use our sensory den. Alternative provision is delivered through education and built around each child's EHCP outcomes, with the same fixed practitioner every week for consistency. Delivery: on site at our centre (maximum 10 people at once, every session private) or off site at schools, clubs and other settings for larger groups. AP placements are usually a regular weekly slot, often longer than an hour, and can be funded as a block of hours used flexibly over a set period. Funding: local authority funded, school commissioned, EOTAS personal budgets and parent funded. Costings are provided directly to the local authority, school or EHCP coordinator. Referrals: schools, local authorities and parents can get in touch by phone or through our website to discuss a placement. Sessions are booked in advance. Safeguarding: our founder is the Designated Safeguarding Lead. All staff hold Enhanced DBS checks with Children's Barred List, and volunteers never work with learners unsupervised. Parents and carers can leave during AP sessions.
