Overview
Greatwood Charity is a service that provides short courses for Primary, Secondary and NEET (not in employment, education or training) students with support needs in Tiers 2 and 3. The provision supports individuals to develop their emotional literacy, resilience and self-regulation skills, while also learning about animal care, primarily caring for the rescued and retired racehorses. Children and young people are referred into the service by commissioning schools, parents, carers and other agencies. For primary aged KS1 and KS2 pupils, learners referred by schools can participate in Horse Power™ group courses. Alternatively, one to one provision, Horse Power Plus™, is available to all individuals. Both are 6-week programmes that can support the transition back into mainstream education.
