Overview
East Boldon Alternative Provision (EBAP), based at Field House Farm in East Boldon, provides nurturing, part-time alternative education for children and young people aged 7–16 who need additional support to engage with learning, including those with SEND and social, emotional and mental health needs. We combine daily Maths, English, Science and PSHE with practical learning through animal care, equestrian activities, sport, cookery, horticulture and life skills. Our small-group and individually supported placements help learners build confidence, develop positive relationships and work towards their next stage of education. Sessions run from 10am to 2pm, with placements of up to 12 hours per week. Free breakfast and weekly welfare sessions support wellbeing and readiness to learn. Transport may be available by arrangement. EBAP is an unregistered alternative provision. Placements are referred and funded by schools or local authorities, with individual needs assessed before an induction and placement offer. We work closely with commissioning professionals, providing attendance updates, individual targets and six-weekly progress reports. Safeguarding is central to our provision, supported by a designated safeguarding lead, safer recruitment procedures and individual risk assessments.
